Room Leader – Early Years Nursery

About the role

Little Explorers Day Nursery and Preschool in Knighton is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Room Leader to support and inspire children in a warm, nurturing environment. You will oversee daily activities, ensure high standards of care, and help children thrive through curiosity and play.

Key responsibilities

• Promote high standards of quality within the nursery.
• Support and supervise playroom staff in their day‑to‑day duties.
• Deploy staff appropriately to maintain required standards.
• Implement key‑carer procedures and allocate children to key‑carers.
• Ensure practice meets Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
• Provide professional feedback to parents and carers.
• Promote the nursery to current and prospective families.

Required profile

• Experience working in early years settings, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of EYFS standards and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, parents, and children.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships.
