Room Leader – Two-Year-Old Room

About the role

We are partnering with a high‑quality private nursery near Forest Row, East Sussex, to find an experienced Room Leader for the Two‑Year‑Old Room. This full‑time position offers the chance to shape a safe, stimulating environment for young learners while leading a dedicated early years team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the Two‑Year‑Old Room team, ensuring high standards of care and education.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes children’s curiosity and development.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age‑appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
• Monitor children’s progress, maintain accurate records, and conduct two‑year progress reviews.
• Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
• Identify additional needs early and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and EYFS compliance at all times.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative culture.

Required profile

• Relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above).
• Previous experience as a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership abilities.
• Genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of two‑year‑old children.
