Rotational Pharmacist

About the role

This rotational pharmacist position offers qualified and foundation trainee pharmacists the chance to gain experience across multiple mental health sites within Greater Manchester. You will work alongside senior clinical pharmacists, rotating through a variety of specialties to develop a comprehensive hospital pharmacy skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient‑centred pharmaceutical care across acute adult, PICU, older adult, CAMHS, forensic, rehabilitation and substance misuse services.
• Participate in ward rounds, medication audits and service development projects.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and provide medication safety advice.
• Complete a funded Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and, where appropriate, non‑medical prescribing.
• Maintain accurate medication records using the EPMA system.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist (newly qualified, foundation trainee due to register August 2026, or experienced pharmacist seeking a new direction).
• Interest in mental health pharmacy; prior mental health experience not essential.
• Willingness to rotate across multiple sites and specialties.
• Commitment to professional development and competency‑based progression.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPMA (Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration) system.
