RTA Litigation Claims Handler

About the role

This permanent, hybrid position is for an experienced professional to manage a specialist caseload of Motability‑related road traffic accident (RTA) personal injury claims. You will progress claims from initial instruction through to settlement or final resolution, providing clear legal guidance and ensuring high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload of Motability‑related RTA personal injury claims.
• Handle OIC, MOJ, MIB, Fast Track, complex and Part 8 litigated matters.
• Develop and implement strategies for resolving liability and quantum disputes.
• Manage post‑whiplash reform claims, including disputed matters.
• Assess and value claims up to £20,000.
• Provide clear, accurate legal advice in line with procedures and internal policies.
• Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high standards of customer care.
• Progress claims efficiently within agreed timescales and meet quality, service and performance targets.

Required profile

• Previous experience handling RTA personal injury claims, preferably in a law firm, insurer or specialist legal services environment.
• Experience with Fast Track RTA claims and managing litigation.
• Strong knowledge of OIC and MOJ processes, Pre‑Action Protocols and the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Understanding of tariff and non‑tariff injury valuations and Judicial College Guidelines.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work to targets and quality measures.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise a demanding caseload.
