RTITB Instructor – Forklift & Material Handling Trainer

About the role

CTS Training & Consultancy is seeking a full‑time RTITB Instructor to deliver high‑quality training on forklift trucks and other material handling equipment across the United Kingdom. You will ensure all sessions meet current industry and safety standards while supporting learners of varied experience levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver classroom and practical RTITB‑accredited training sessions.
• Assess and test learners, issuing certifications where appropriate.
• Complete and maintain all RTITB and internal training records.
• Maintain training materials and equipment, ensuring they are up‑to‑date.
• Update course content in line with legislation and best practice.
• Support learners with different backgrounds and promote a strong safety culture.
• Assist with related training programmes, such as refresher courses.
• Liaise with clients to understand specific training needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery.

Required profile

• Current or recent RTITB Instructor qualification (or equivalent) with proven delivery experience.
• Strong instructional, presentation and classroom management abilities.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations for material handling equipment.
• Effective communication and coaching skills.
• Good organisational and administrative capabilities, including accurate record‑keeping.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
• Experience in transport, logistics, warehousing or industrial environments is highly beneficial.
• Additional exposure to ADR, Driver CPC or related accredited training is an advantage.
• Relevant vocational or technical qualifications are desirable.
