S/4 Senior ABAP Consultant

About the role

As an S/4 Senior ABAP Consultant you will design, develop and implement custom code enhancements, workflows and extensions for S/4HANA projects. You will deliver high‑performing, standards‑compliant code and act as an autonomous technical lead, guiding workshops and producing detailed technical blueprints.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced ABAP components such as RAP, BOPF, CDS Views, OData services and complex workflow engines.
• Support presales by creating proof‑of‑concept extensions and system demonstrations in private and public cloud environments.
• Execute development tasks using SAP Activate templates and log code readiness via Cloud ALM.
• Review Technical Design Documents against functional specifications to ensure proper mapping to business processes.
• Organise internal technical training, hackathons and knowledge‑sharing workshops on modern S/4HANA programming models.
• Perform deep‑dive code reviews, performance optimisations and automated testing with the ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC).

Required profile

• Extensive SAP development experience with a strong focus on advanced ABAP.
• At least two full‑lifecycle S/4HANA implementation or migration projects.
• Solid understanding of the SAP Activate methodology; relevant SAP S/4HANA ABAP or SAP BTP certifications are a plus.
• Proven ability to build on‑stack and side‑by‑side extensions following modern S/4HANA architecture guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for functional leads and client teams.
