Safeguarding & Compliance Assurance Manager

About the role

This fixed‑term position supports schools across the Trust by strengthening safeguarding and SEND practices. You will work closely with headteachers and designated safeguarding leads to ensure robust, compliant and defensible processes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to improve safeguarding systems and practice in schools.
• Conduct reviews, audits and monitoring activities, including CPOMS dip sampling.
• Lead complex complaints and investigations involving safeguarding and SEND.
• Support SEND practice reviews and oversee EHCP implementation.
• Produce clear reports, ensure effective governance and track improvement actions.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and SEND within education.
• Proven experience handling complex or sensitive investigations.
• Ability to balance challenge with practical support for schools.
• Excellent written communication and report‑writing skills.
• Organised, resilient and capable of managing competing priorities.

Required skills

• CPOMS (Child Protection Online Management System) usage.
