Join the Marine Society & Sea Cadets (MSSC), the UK's leading maritime charity dedicated to youth development and lifelong learning. As our Safeguarding Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all young people and adults at risk within our organization.
Missions principales
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operational functions of the safeguarding service to ensure robustness and effectiveness.
- Team Management: Directly manage and lead a team of Safeguarding Officers, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Strategic Development: Drive the continuous improvement and evolution of the safeguarding service and policies.
- Expert Advisory: Provide professional guidance and specialist support to staff and volunteers regarding safeguarding concerns.
- External Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Training: Design and occasionally deliver training sessions to enhance safeguarding awareness across the organization.
Profil recherché
- Proven experience working within the youth or community voluntary sector as a frontline practitioner.
- Demonstrable experience in people management, specifically where safeguarding is the core focus.
- Deep understanding of 'Early Help' frameworks and current trends in child and adult protection.
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective when responding to challenging or high-pressure situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules as required by the nature of the role.
Competences requises
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Youth Work, Education, Early Years) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, advisory, and training capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and external liaison.
