Sales Controller

About the role

An established automotive retailer is seeking a proactive Sales Controller to support the high‑performing vehicle sales department. Working closely with the Sales Manager, you will help drive sales performance, develop the sales team, maximise finance and insurance opportunities and ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales process.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day management of the vehicle sales department.
• Motivate, coach and develop the sales team to exceed targets.
• Drive new and used vehicle sales performance.
• Maximise finance, insurance and value‑added product penetration.
• Ensure compliance with sales processes and regulatory standards.
• Monitor sales activity, conversion rates and departmental KPIs.
• Assist with stock management and vehicle pricing strategies.
• Conduct deal reviews and support sales negotiations as required.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to meet profitability targets.
• Oversee accurate completion of sales documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a franchised automotive dealership environment.
• Proven success as a Senior Sales Executive, Business Manager or Sales Controller.
• Strong understanding of vehicle finance and insurance products.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve sales and profitability targets.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Organised, customer‑focused and professional approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

What we offer

• £30,000 basic salary.
• Up to £55,000 OTE.
