Sales Engineer – Industrial Components & Power Transmission

About the role

We are seeking a Sales Engineer to join a global engineering manufacturer based in Coventry. The role will transition you from internal technical sales or applications engineering into an external, customer‑facing position, supporting OEMs, distributors and end users across the UK, Ireland and Nordic markets. You will receive product training and ongoing support to help customers select the right engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and application support to customers.
• Deliver product presentations and training to distributors.
• Visit customers across the UK, Ireland and Nordic regions, including overnight travel.
• Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline using a CRM system.
• Achieve sales targets and key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with product specialists and the wider sales team to develop customer solutions.

Required profile

• Strong technical engineering background with commercial experience.
• Experience in internal sales, applications engineering, technical support or technical customer service within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to develop relationships with distributors, OEMs and end users.
• Willingness to travel and work independently in the field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Knowledge of power transmission and industrial components.
