SAP Project Lead – South Oxfordshire

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Project Lead to join their IT function in South Oxfordshire. This permanent, fully‑onsite role offers the chance to own SAP and business application projects, working closely with internal stakeholders and a third‑party SAP support provider.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multiple SAP and application‑based projects from requirements gathering to implementation.
• Engage with business stakeholders to capture requirements, define scope and design technical solutions.
• Serve as the primary contact for the external SAP support partner, managing relationships and delivery.
• Coordinate internal teams and third‑party suppliers to meet milestones, timelines and budgets.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and guide application design and development.
• Support investigation and resolution of complex SAP and application issues.
• Monitor project progress, risks and deliverables, ensuring proper governance and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement across application delivery, support processes and IT service management.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering SAP projects as a Project Lead, Technical Project Manager or similar.
• Strong understanding of SAP with exposure to multiple modules.
• Technical background in software/application development or support.
• Knowledge of SAP ABAP or other programming languages is advantageous.
• Experience managing third‑party suppliers and external support partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Familiarity with structured project delivery methodologies such as PRINCE2.
• Understanding of ITIL principles and IT service management processes is a plus.
