SC Cleared Data Engineer – Azure & SQL Server

About the role

We are looking for an experienced SC‑cleared Data Engineer to join a critical data transformation programme. You will design, build and maintain robust data integration solutions across on‑premises SQL Server environments and Azure cloud services, supporting both operational and analytical workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Understand existing business application databases and current BI/Data Warehouse environments.
• Design, develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using T‑SQL, SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Ingest and manage data in SQL Server 2022, providing landing and staging areas for enterprise data.
• Migrate and integrate data from on‑premises systems into Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks and other cloud platforms.
• Automate manual data processes to improve efficiency, scalability and reliability.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, governance and consistency across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and technology stakeholders to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and Git.

Required profile

• Active SC clearance (mandatory).
• Strong experience with SQL Server 2022 and advanced T‑SQL development.
• Hands‑on ETL development experience using SSIS.
• Proven track record in data integration, migration and data‑warehouse projects.
• Experience working with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure SQL Database.
• Familiarity with Qlik and SSRS reporting environments.
