Scan Operative

About the role

The Scan Operative will deliver a fast, accurate document‑scanning service for research teams across University Hospital Southampton. Working within the Research & Development department and the Clinical Research Facility, you will support the recording of patient treatment records and other research documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain high‑volume scanning equipment to digitise research documents.
• Upload scanned files into the Trust’s electronic document management system (OnBase Unity Client).
• Liaise with investigators, research nurses, and study support staff to ensure timely delivery of scanned materials.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to uphold scanning standards and Trust policies.
• Provide administrative and facility support within the Clinical Research Facility as required.

Required profile

• Ability to work accurately and efficiently with confidential research data.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills for interaction with multidisciplinary research teams.
• Commitment to health and safety and data protection standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with document‑scanning equipment.
• Experience using OnBase Unity Client (eDMS).
