About the role
The Scheduler will support Newton’s Scheduling team in allocating roughly 450 consultants to projects across all market groups. Working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment, the role ensures optimal resource matching while contributing to consultant development and project profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule and resource Newton programmes, balancing project quality, profitability and staff development.
- Own and continuously improve core scheduling processes such as skills capture and first‑project allocation.
- Provide administrative support to Resource Managers and assist the Public Resource Manager in senior stakeholder negotiations.
- Analyse resourcing data, maintain scheduling reports and deliver up‑to‑date insights to stakeholders.
- Manage the shared inbox, respond to ad‑hoc queries and coordinate consultant downtime activities.
- Liaise with internal teams (Recruitment, Project Teams) and consultants to align resources with upcoming work, interests and aspirations.
- Validate and enter data in scheduling databases, and deputise for Resource Managers when required.
- Drive scheduling improvement projects and contribute ideas to enhance profitability and staff experience.
Required profile
- Resilient self‑starter with a proactive, empathetic attitude and a sense of urgency.
- Strong team player with excellent time‑management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling data.
- Effective communicator with strong relationship, influencing and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Analytical mindset comfortable working with data sets.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
