School Business Manager – Permanent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced School Business Manager to join a welcoming school in Ashford. Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure the school operates efficiently and resources are managed effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day management of school finances, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Oversee human‑resources functions including recruitment, staff records and personnel administration.
• Manage school administration and premises, ensuring efficient operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, financial and safeguarding regulations.
• Support the senior leadership team in strategic planning and school development.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a School Business Manager or similar operational leadership role in a school.
• Strong knowledge of school finance, HR and safeguarding processes.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and ability to start promptly.
