School Careers & Employability Lead

About the role

The school is looking for a passionate Careers & Employability Lead to shape its CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance) programme. Starting in September 2026, you will work with students, staff and external partners to ensure young people receive high‑quality guidance for further education, training and employment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the school's CEIAG programme across the curriculum.
• Provide one‑to‑one guidance, group workshops, assemblies and career‑related sessions.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, colleges, universities and apprenticeship providers.
• Organise careers fairs, employer encounters, workplace visits and work‑experience placements.
• Support students with CV writing, interview preparation, UCAS applications, personal statements and apprenticeship applications.
• Track student destinations, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks, the Baker Clause and statutory guidance.

Required profile

• Level 4 Careers Guidance qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.
• Experience working in a secondary school, college or careers guidance setting.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver careers education and employability programmes.
• Strong knowledge of post‑16/18 pathways, apprenticeships and higher education.
• Excellent communication, organisational and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with careers platforms such as Unifrog, Compass+ or Grofar.
• Strong IT and administrative abilities.
