School Caretaker – Full‑time or Part‑time

About the role

We are seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join one of our partner schools in Preston. The role involves maintaining a safe, secure, and well‑kept environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site security and ensure all school buildings are properly secured each day.
• Carry out general maintenance checks, including cleaning and minor repairs.
• Perform routine security checks to safeguard the premises.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of school events and activities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Lock up or open the school securely according to the agreed shift pattern.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Supervisor, Caretaker, or in a similar role.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and able to meet safeguarding requirements.

Required skills

• Basic DIY and maintenance abilities.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
