School Caretaker – Hounslow

About the role

The school is seeking a reliable caretaker to maintain a safe, secure and well‑kept environment for students and staff. Working closely with the facilities team, you will oversee daily upkeep and coordinate external contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs across the campus.
• Open and close the school premises, acting as keyholder.
• Monitor heating, lighting, alarm systems and ensure they operate correctly.
• Liaise with contractors, track work progress and verify completion.
• Support overall site cleanliness, health and safety compliance.
• Order equipment and supplies as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a school or similar environment.
• Good DIY and general maintenance abilities.
• Reliable, proactive and capable of working independently.
• Strong communication skills.
• Valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Available to interview and start immediately.

Required skills

• Basic maintenance and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of heating, lighting and alarm system checks.

What we offer

• Rotating shift pattern: 7:00 am‑3:00 pm or 11:00 am‑6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
• Competitive hourly rate between £16.50 and £17.00.
