School Caretaker

About the role

We are seeking a practical, reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join the team at a specialist SEN school in Beaconsfield. The role involves maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors, with flexible hours and work throughout the summer holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school site as a key‑holder.
• Responding to alarm activations when required.
• Carrying out basic repairs, painting and general maintenance tasks.
• Assembling flat‑pack furniture and moving equipment.
• Conducting security checks and site patrols.
• Assisting with fire, security and heating systems.
• Replenishing consumables such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls.
• Supporting planned and reactive maintenance across the school.

Required profile

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Practical DIY and repair abilities.
• Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently.
• Good understanding of health and safety.
• Positive attitude and willingness to support a specialist school environment.
