School Caretaker – Primary School (Gainsborough)

About the role
We are seeking a reliable School Caretaker to join a friendly village primary school in the Gainsborough area. The role involves maintaining a safe, clean and functional environment for pupils and staff, with flexible hours from 7 am to 2 pm.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out daily inspections of the school site and report any issues.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks across classrooms and communal areas.
- Monitor external contractors and ensure compliance with health‑and‑safety standards.
- Support site security procedures, including access control and safety checks.
- Prepare classrooms and shared spaces for daily use.
Required profile
- Child‑Only DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS).
- Previous experience in a school, facilities or maintenance setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to respond promptly to site issues.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, health and safety regulations.
Required skills
- Basic maintenance and repair techniques.
