School Catering Assistant – Flexible Hours

About the role
Berry Recruitment is seeking School Catering Assistants to work in primary and secondary schools across Stockport. The role starts in September and offers flexible, part‑time hours during the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals to students and staff.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing up and general cleaning.
- Serve food in a friendly and polite manner.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with safeguarding duties as required.
Required profile
- Available Monday‑Friday, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm (flexibility possible).
- Enhanced DBS clearance (can be obtained for a fee).
- Completion of online training for Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and KCSIE (provided).
Required skills
- Food hygiene knowledge.
- Safeguarding awareness.
- Understanding of KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) guidelines.
