School Catering Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time School Catering Assistant to join our team at Goldfield Infants in Tring. The role is focused on Wednesdays during term time, providing safe and nutritious meals to children while upholding our safeguarding standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to children.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards in line with regulatory requirements.
• Follow health and safety procedures and manage supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean and hygienic.
• Represent HCL values and contribute to a positive dining experience.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player with reliable punctuality and a desire to develop.

What we offer

• £12.71 per hour (£1,818 per annum) – term‑time only.
