School Catering Assistant – Part‑time (20 hrs/week)

About the role

Join HCL as a School Catering Assistant, supporting St Clement Danes School with safe, nutritious meals for pupils. You will work 20 hours per week during term time, with no weekends or late‑night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to children.
• Maintain food handling and hygiene standards.
• Follow health and safety regulations in the kitchen and dining area.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
• Represent HCL values and uphold safeguarding priorities.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 certification (preferred).
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens (preferred).
• Team‑player who delivers high‑quality customer service.
• Good punctuality and a drive to succeed.
