School Catering Assistant (Term‑time, Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Catering Assistant to join our team at St Clement Danes Secondary School. Working 25 hours per week on a term‑time basis, you will help deliver nutritious meals to pupils while maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving meals to children.
• Uphold food handling and hygiene standards in line with regulations.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safeguard children at all times.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing‑up duties and keep the kitchen and dining area clean and hygienic.
• Represent HCL’s values and provide friendly customer service.

Required profile

• Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.
• Team‑player attitude with punctuality and a drive to succeed.
• Preferably holds a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of key allergens is an advantage.
