About the role
Pertemps Scotland Temps is recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a School Cleaner on a temporary, ongoing basis in Edinburgh South. The position offers a rate of £13.66 per hour and a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the school premises, ensuring a safe environment for pupils and staff. You will follow the school’s cleaning schedule and perform deep‑cleaning tasks as required. A valid PVG Certificate is required, costing £59 for a new application or £18 to update an existing one. The start date is as soon as possible.
Key responsibilities
- Emptying rubbish buckets
- Cleaning toilets
- Sweeping, mopping and hoovering
- Polishing hard floors
- Cleaning all surfaces
- Ensuring all equipment is stored safely
- Deep cleaning as per schedules
- Any other tasks as required
Required profile
- Approachable, dependable and a team player
- Previous cleaning experience
- Possession of a valid PVG Certificate (new application £59 or update £18)
