School Cleaner (Part‑time, Yeovil)

About the role

The school is looking for a reliable part‑time cleaner to maintain a safe and tidy environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Working Monday to Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm, you will report to the Facilities Manager and help keep the premises in excellent condition.

Key responsibilities

Clean classrooms, offices, hallways and other designated areas.
Sweep, mop and vacuum floors.
Empty trash and recycling bins.
Clean and sanitise restrooms, replenish supplies and ensure hygiene standards.
Dust and wipe down surfaces.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facilities Manager.
Follow all health and safety procedures.

Required profile

DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
Physical ability to lift and move occasional heavy objects.

Required skills

Basic cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of health‑ and safety guidelines for school environments.
