School IT Technician

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic IT Support Technician to join our busy ICT team in a school environment. You will be the first point of contact for staff and students, providing both face‑to‑face and remote support while ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure operating systems and software applications.
• Monitor, maintain and support computer systems, networks and classroom technology.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network‑related issues.
• Provide first‑line support via helpdesk tickets, face‑to‑face and remote assistance.
• Set up and maintain laptop and iPad trolleys, audiovisual equipment and IT resources for lessons and events.
• Manage IT inventory, process deliveries and maintain accurate asset records.
• Create and manage user accounts, ensuring compliance with licensing and health & safety standards.
• Support deployment of new hardware and software solutions and test emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Experience working in an IT support or helpdesk environment.
• Strong understanding of Apple macOS and iOS.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2016–2022.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and network switches.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and customer‑service abilities, able to work independently and as part of a team.
