About the role

The School Meals Supervisory Assistant supports the safe and enjoyable lunch experience for pupils at Cheddar Grove School. Working part‑time during the lunch break, you will help create a welcoming environment that encourages children to eat well and socialize.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during the lunch period, ensuring safety and appropriate behaviour.
• Manage queues, assist with seating, and support children with special dietary needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area.
• Report any incidents or concerns to senior staff in line with safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with catering staff to ensure smooth service delivery.

Required profile

• Reliable and committed to working the scheduled lunch hours.
• Experience or enthusiasm for working with children in a school setting.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support inclusive school values.
