School Medical Support Staff – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking dedicated School Medical Support staff to work across multiple schools in Leeds, providing essential health and personal care to pupils with complex needs. You will collaborate with teaching teams to ensure each learner receives the appropriate medical and educational support outlined in their EHCP and care plans.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personal care, hygiene assistance and changing support to students.
• Assist with medical tasks such as peg and tube feeding, and operate hoists where required.
• Support learners with profound and multiple learning disabilities, including autism, Down syndrome and sensory needs.
• Work closely with teachers to facilitate access to all aspects of the curriculum.
• Maintain accurate records and follow best practice guidelines for neurodevelopmental, physical and medical care.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children and young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
• Comfortable providing personal care and hygiene support.
• Knowledge of EHCPs and care plans.
• Willingness to develop higher‑level medical skills.
