School Nurse

About the role
The School Nurse will deliver a person‑centred nursing service for vulnerable school‑aged children identified as at risk. Working closely with pupils, families, carers and partner agencies, the role focuses on prevention, early intervention and support across mental health, wellbeing and risk‑taking behaviours.
Key responsibilities
- Provide accessible school nursing care to children identified as vulnerable.
- Develop and manage an individual caseload, working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with families, carers, schools and external agencies to coordinate support.
- Focus on ten priority areas under the themes of vulnerable children, mental health, and risk‑taking behaviours.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and PVG registration requirements.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse qualified to practice in the UK.
- Experience working with children, young people and families in a health or educational setting.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and safeguarding standards.
Required skills
What we offer
- Band 6 salary range £43,231 – £52,679 per annum.
- Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum.
- 36‑hour work week on a permanent contract.
- Eligibility for relocation expenses.
