Science Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Permanent – Slough

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join a supportive secondary school in Slough from September. This permanent position will involve teaching Science across Key Stages 3 to 5, helping students develop curiosity and confidence in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons for KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages academic success.
• Collaborate with the Science department and wider faculty on curriculum development.
• Participate in the school’s structured induction programme and ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher (QTS) or equivalent, ready to start an Early Career Teacher programme.
• Passion for teaching Science and ability to inspire learners of varying abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Willingness to engage with mentoring and collaborative school culture.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the secondary Science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
