Science Early Career Teacher – Secondary Schools in Southport & Crosby

About the role

We are recruiting Science Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for secondary schools in Southport and Crosby. The role involves delivering engaging science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, fostering curiosity and achievement across biology, chemistry or physics.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality science lessons for KS3 and KS4.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages investigation.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with department colleagues to develop curriculum resources.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with school policies.

Required profile

• Currently completing a PGCE or teacher training programme leading to QTS, or will achieve QTS by September 2026.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Computer Science (or equivalent science subject) or pending qualification.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Full career history with at least two professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
