Science Graduate Teaching Assistant

About the role

This full‑time Science Graduate Teaching Assistant position supports a high‑achieving secondary school in Enfield. It is designed for recent science graduates who want to gain hands‑on classroom experience before committing to teacher training.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging science lessons to pupils aged 11‑16.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support with classwork, homework and revision.
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Offer targeted assistance to students who need extra help with scientific concepts.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment programmes.

Required profile

• A degree (minimum 2:2) in any science‑based subject.
• Genuine interest in working with young people and in education.
• Some experience with secondary‑aged pupils (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, previous TA work).
• Confident communicator with good organisational skills.
• Proactive, positive and reliable attitude.
