About the role

We are looking for a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in St Albans. The role supports the delivery of Biology, Chemistry and Physics across Key Stages 3 to 5 during the academic year, beginning September 2026.

Key responsibilities

Assist teachers with planning and delivering science lessons for KS3‑KS5.
Support practical experiments and laboratory sessions, preparing equipment and ensuring health‑and‑safety compliance.
Deliver targeted intervention sessions for small groups or individual pupils.
Help track student progress and attainment data.

Required profile

Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a related science discipline.
Strong subject knowledge across the three scientific areas.
Good organisational and communication abilities.
Enthusiasm for working with young people in an educational setting.

Required skills

Subject‑specific knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
