Science Teacher (Chemistry/Physics) – Full‑time Supply Role

About the role

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a qualified Science teacher with a specialism in Chemistry or Physics to join a successful secondary academy in Trafford on a full‑time, long‑term supply basis starting September 2026. The position covers a temporary absence and involves teaching Science to GCSE students (ages 11‑16) in an oversubscribed girls’ school rated Good by Ofsted.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons aligned to the GCSE curriculum.
• Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Use Assessment for Learning techniques to monitor and support student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records, attendance and assessment data.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (and overseas police checks if applicable).
• Ability to teach Chemistry or Physics at GCSE level.
• Early‑career teachers, experienced teachers and further‑education teachers are all welcome.
