Science Teacher (ECT) – Westminster Secondary School

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher (or Early Career Teacher) to join an Outstanding secondary school in the heart of Westminster. The role starts in September 2026 on a permanent, full‑time basis, supporting a growing Science department and helping to maintain excellent Progress 8 results.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging Science lessons for KS3‑5.
- Contribute to the department’s development, including taking on TLR opportunities such as KS3 Coordinator or pastoral responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with a team of experienced Science teachers and graduate teaching assistants.
- Participate in in‑house training, mentoring programmes and the school’s bespoke ECT induction.
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student progress.
Required profile
- UK QTS (or in the process of obtaining it).
- Strong academic background – degree plus relevant A‑Levels and GCSEs.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the 8 Teaching Standards at a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level.
- Team‑player attitude, willing to receive and act on feedback.
Required skills
- Excellent Science subject knowledge.
- Effective questioning and modelling techniques.
- Proficiency with modern marking policies (no work taken home).
