About the role
We are seeking a qualified Science Teacher to join a thriving department at a well‑established co‑educational independent school in Dorking, starting September 2026. You will teach motivated students aged 11‑18, contribute to outstanding academic outcomes, and play an active part in pastoral care and the wider life of the school.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, high‑quality Science lessons across the secondary curriculum.
- Collaborate with six full‑time and three part‑time Science teachers and two Science technicians.
- Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and resource planning.
- Participate in pastoral duties, student welfare initiatives, and extracurricular activities.
- Maintain accurate records and assess student progress.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
