Science Teacher – SEMH Secondary School in Southwark

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a supportive SEMH secondary school in Southwark. The role starts in September 2026 on a full‑time, permanent basis and focuses on delivering engaging science lessons to students with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Plan and deliver differentiated, practical lessons that inspire curiosity.
• Build positive relationships to promote confidence, resilience and academic progress.
• Monitor student attainment and implement targeted interventions.
• Collaborate with pastoral teams and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for every learner.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management and inclusive teaching practice.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
