Science Technician – Full‑Time (School)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Merton. This full‑time, five‑day‑a‑week position supports practical science lessons, ensuring students have a safe and engaging laboratory environment.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and set up practical experiments and demonstrations for science classes.
- Maintain, organise and manage laboratory equipment, resources and chemicals.
- Assist teaching staff and students during practical activities.
- Ensure laboratories meet high health‑and‑safety standards.
- Monitor stock levels and order equipment and consumables as needed.
- Support the day‑to‑day running of the science department.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Science Technician, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong subject knowledge of practical science.
- A relevant degree is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, reliable and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting staff and pupils.
