Science Technician – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role
We are looking for a reliable Science Technician to join a bustling secondary academy in Barking & Dagenham. The role starts in September and supports the delivery of practical Biology, Chemistry and Physics lessons across two school sites.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain and organise laboratory equipment, chemicals and teaching resources.
- Support teaching staff during practical sessions, ensuring safety and smooth operation.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder supplies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all science labs.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and chemical inventories.
Required profile
- Organised and reliable with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff.
- Proactive approach to problem‑solving and lab management.
Required skills
- Experience handling laboratory equipment and chemicals (school or lab setting).
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures for science labs.
