Science Technician – Secondary School (Term‑time)

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Milton Keynes from September 2026. The role is term‑time only and provides essential technical support to ensure practical science lessons run smoothly and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical experiments.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and resources.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Manage stock levels and order supplies as required.
- Support teaching staff with practical lesson preparation.
- Keep laboratories organised, clean and safe.
Required profile
- Background in Science (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in a school laboratory or similar environment is advantageous.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting high‑quality teaching and learning.
Required skills
- Laboratory equipment handling.
- Health and safety compliance.
- Stock management.
What we offer
- Term‑time contract with a daily rate of £90‑£105 inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
