Science Trainee Teacher – Salaried & Funded Training

About the role

We are seeking a high‑achieving science graduate to join a Good & Outstanding secondary school on the outskirts of Slough. The role begins as a teaching assistant supporting science lessons, progresses to an unqualified teacher position, and culminates in a fully funded, salaried teacher training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Assist science teachers across KS3 to KS5, delivering targeted interventions.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to improve student outcomes.
• Gradually take on teaching timetable responsibilities under mentor guidance.
• Participate in a structured, salaried teacher training programme starting September 2027.

Required profile

• 1st or 2:1 degree in a science discipline from a recognised university.
• Strong academic background at A‑Level and GCSE.
• Enthusiastic, resilient and confident personality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Effective classroom support and intervention techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior staff and mentors.
