About the role
Randstad Care is seeking experienced Care Professionals to work as Support Workers on Scotland’s stunning islands, including Argyll & Bute, the Western Isles, Orkney and Shetland. These full‑time, contractor positions combine competitive hourly rates with a unique living experience in close‑knit island communities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality personal care and support to residents in care homes, home‑care, or supported‑living settings.
- Assist with daily living activities, medication reminders, and mobility support.
- Collaborate with senior staff and multidisciplinary teams to ensure resident wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.
Required profile
- Relevant experience in a care or support role (HCA, Support Worker, Senior Care Assistant, etc.).
- Current mandatory training, Right‑to‑Work documentation, and willingness to join the PVG scheme.
- Adaptable, reliable, and enthusiastic about integrating into island communities.
Required skills
- Basic care‑related competencies (e.g., personal care, safe moving techniques).
What we offer
- Premium hourly rates: £19.62‑£23.00 (PAYE) or £21.50‑£25.00 (Umbrella) depending on role.
- Free shared accommodation for the entire placement.
- Fully reimbursed ferry travel to and from the islands.
- Flexible contract lengths from 12 weeks up to 6 months, with holiday entitlement after 12 weeks.
