Scrub Nurse / ODP – Theatre Practitioner (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner to join the busy Theatre Department at Ashtead Hospital. This full‑time position (37.5 hours per week) involves working on a flexible rota, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scrub support for surgical teams across multiple specialties.
• Maintain a sterile environment and manage theatre instruments and equipment.
• Follow a flexible departmental rota, covering early‑morning, evening and weekend shifts as required.
• Work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced, high‑volume theatre setting.

Required profile

• Current registration with the NMC or HCPC in the United Kingdom.
• Demonstrable experience working within the scrub role in an operating theatre.
• Warm, considerate and empathetic character with strong decision‑making and initiative.
• Excellent communication skills and a flexible, positive attitude.
