Secondary Art Teacher (Supply) – Barnet

About the role

We are supporting a popular, multicultural secondary school in Barnet that is seeking a supply Art Teacher on a full‑time, long‑term temporary basis, with the possibility of permanent appointment for the right candidate. The successful teacher will deliver Art lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils and may also have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Art curriculum for KS3‑KS4, with optional KS5 teaching.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
• Act as a Form Tutor, overseeing pastoral care and administrative duties.
• Utilise ICT tools to enhance lesson delivery and student interaction.
• Maintain high standards of classroom management and adhere to safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
• Demonstrated outstanding classroom practice or a strong drive to achieve it.
• Experience teaching Art at A‑level is highly desirable.
• Proactive, engaging teaching approach with a clear understanding of high‑quality instruction.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and administration skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and fulfil Form Tutor responsibilities.
