Secondary Cover Supervisor – Full‑Time Temp‑to‑Perm

About the role

This full‑time, temp‑to‑perm position is based in secondary schools around Witham. It offers graduates, aspiring teachers or anyone with experience working with young people a first step into a classroom‑based role, supporting teachers and students throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes in the teacher’s absence, keeping students focused on tasks.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with each school’s policies.
• Deliver pre‑prepared work and ensure learning continues smoothly.
• Provide feedback to teachers and school leaders on student progress and conduct.
• Support pupils across a range of year groups and subjects as needed.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people (e.g., school work experience, youth clubs, sports coaching, tutoring).
• Confident, professional approach to classroom management.
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, positive attitude.
