About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic History Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Bradford. The role starts in September 2026 and involves delivering engaging History lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4 students. You will work within a supportive Humanities department and contribute to the school’s academic success.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Teach a broad range of historical topics, fostering enquiry and critical thinking.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE History examinations and support them to achieve their potential.
- Participate in departmental activities, history clubs, educational visits, and themed events.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level in the UK.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Required skills
- Effective lesson planning and delivery.
- Ability to assess and provide feedback on student work.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
