About the role
Reed Education is supporting a reputable secondary school in Leeds to hire a passionate History Teacher for Key Stages 3 and 4. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging History lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
- Teach a broad range of historical topics and develop students' enquiry skills.
- Assess, monitor and provide feedback on student progress.
- Prepare students for GCSE History examinations.
- Contribute to the Humanities department through clubs, educational visits and themed events.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at secondary level in the UK.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.
Required skills
- Effective communication and organisational skills.
