Secondary Learning Support Assistant – KS3 (Wirral)

About the role

This temporary position supports a secondary school in Wirral, focusing on Key Stage 3 learners, especially Year 7 pupils as they transition into secondary education. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to ensure inclusive access to the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class assistance to KS3 students across a range of subjects.
• Support pupils with additional learning needs to engage with the curriculum.
• Help new Year 7 students settle into secondary school life.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored support.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people, preferably in a school or similar setting.
• Patient, supportive, and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Genuine passion for education and student development.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required; role focuses on interpersonal support.
