Secondary Maths Teacher – Specialist SEN School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join our specialist independent SEN school in Melksham. The school supports children and young people aged 4‑16 with a range of additional needs, providing a highly personalised learning environment. The role can start immediately or in September, depending on availability.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated Maths lessons across multiple key stages and ability levels.
• Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
• Create a supportive, structured classroom environment that promotes confidence and independence in numeracy.
• Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SEN professionals and the wider school team.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to the development of individual learning plans.

Required profile

• Passion for making Maths accessible and engaging for learners with additional needs.
• Experience teaching secondary Maths, preferably within a SEN setting.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and manage a varied classroom.
• Strong collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and curriculum delivery.
• Assessment and progress tracking.
• Knowledge of the UK Maths curriculum and EHCP requirements.
